The lineup shifts with the seasons, that's just how flowers work, but the growers never do. Most cut flowers sold in the United States arrive from overseas. This collection is the part of our shop where that isn't the case: every arrangement in it is built from flowers grown by American farmers. You'll always find USA-grown flowers in rotation here, whether that's ball and pompom dahlias fresh off an Oregon farm, Juliet garden roses in peachy-pink shades, or gerbera daisies doing their friendliest impression of sunshine.
What "Grown in the U.S.A." Means Here
It means the flowers were grown on American farms. If an arrangement is in here, its stems came from domestic growers. The lineup rotates through the year with what those farms are actually cutting, so this is a moving collection rather than a fixed catalogue.
What it doesn't mean is that every flower Farmgirl sells is domestic. This is a specific collection precisely dedicated to what we grow in the U.S.A.
What Grows Well Here
American flower farming has genuine specialties, and they're the backbone of this collection.
Dahlias
The Pacific Northwest grows dahlias about as well as anywhere on earth — cool nights, long light, and a season that runs from midsummer to the first hard frost. They're the flower most worth buying domestic for travel purposes.
Garden roses
Domestic garden roses come in with more scent and more ruffle than the long-haul commodity rose.
Foliage and greenery
Eucalyptus, olive, and bay are grown in volume in the United States and hold up beautifully, which is why so much of our wreath and foliage work is domestic by default.
Seasonal specialties
Ranunculus, anemones, calla lilies, gerbera daisies, and alstroemeria all come in from American growers across the year, each on its own window. The dahlia shop and garden rose shop are the easiest way to follow the ones with the shortest seasons.
How Delivery Works
We ship nationwide to the lower 48 states — we're not able to deliver to Hawaii, Alaska, or Puerto Rico yet. Delivery dates vary by piece and destination, so check the calendar on the product page to see what's available for your zip code. We ship Monday through Saturday, so nothing sits in a warehouse over a Sunday. Boxes travel closed, so unbox on arrival — a short trip from the field only helps if the last leg goes right too.
