Who Christina Is
Christina Stembel founded Farmgirl Flowers in 2010, out of her San Francisco apartment, using $49,000 of her own savings and not a cent of outside investment. The company has stayed bootstrapped ever since. She grew up on a farm in Indiana, which is where the name comes from and rather more of the operating philosophy than you'd guess.
The model she built is the one we still run: fewer, better. A short menu we choose ourselves, changed often, instead of a catalogue of ten thousand arrangements nobody has ever ordered. Make It a Whole Gift
A bouquet is a great start. A vase, a handwritten note, and something sweet tucked in beside it is the whole gift. Most arrangements here can travel with company. At checkout you can add a vase in ceramic, metal, or glass, plus extras along the lines of candles, chocolates, caramels, cookies, or tea, and a handwritten note. Each product page shows what's available for that arrangement. Add-ons are priced separately and appear as their own lines. Sales tax is calculated at checkout from the delivery address, since rates vary by state and city.
How Delivery Works
We ship nationwide to the lower 48. Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico aren't currently available for delivery. Delivery speed varies by arrangement and destination, so check the calendar on each product page for the earliest date available, including next-day delivery where it's offered. We deliver Monday through Saturday, with no Sunday delivery.
Once an order is placed we work with growers around the country to get the flowers cut, packed, and sent on their way. They travel boxed and in the dark, so the kindest thing you can do is unpack them early, recut the stems, and give them deep clean water somewhere cool.
